For this recording, I programmed a pink noise pulse that gradually slows down over about four minutes, played it out of speakers at the end of a long hallway that leads to a lobby, and recorded it at twelve different distances throughout the hallway and lobby. I then crossfaded between these different tracks to create the effect of getting further from and closer to the source. I am interested in the different kinds of reverb that occur naturally at these different locations. The crossfading speeds up incrementally as the piece progresses, contrasting the slowing down of the pink noise pulses.
