about
The sounds in this piece are conglomerates of up to 34 sine wave oscillators automated to shift in amplitude and pitch. At any given moment these waves can be heard as two distinct harmonic series whose fundamentals may be related by some small integer proportion (such as 2/3, 5/4, 2/1...)—resulting in dense just harmonic chord clusters—or by a minute frequency differences (i.e. 200 hz. to 205 hz.)—resulting in a sensation of beating. This was originally performed with a six speaker ambisonic array in Littlefield Concert Hall at Mills College. The motion of these two 'chords' through the sound-space was performed in real time using an iPhone with TouchOSC
